Join hundreds of other concerned individuals in support of Bakers Green Acres at an upcoming hearing in court and gather the following day on the farm for a celebration of the farm and fundraiser to keep the farm going!

Background:

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources with an invasive species order is outlawing free range farming of heritage breed pigs. Peaceful Michigan pig farmer, Mark Baker is a farmer being defended with the help of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund. Mark's herd of carefully tended Mangalista pigs offered his family a reliable income. Now, Mark faces constant harassment by individuals in the DNR and a serious loss of income threatening the viability of the farm.

Mark said at the Michigan Wise Traditions conference recently:

Incidentally, in deposition we found out that the Michigan Pork Producers called the meeting and said we must call every pig feral with a straight tail or curly tail and the only exemption they gave was pigs in confinement, they call that a 'domestic hog production' whereas my hog production, outside, on pasture, is not best.
