Learn How to Connect with Your Legislators

for OEFFA's Lobby Day to tell your legislators to support labeling of genetically engineered foods.

Tuesday, Jan. 21
8 a.m. - 1 p.m. EST
Trinity Church
This message is sent on behalf of the Ohio Ecological Food & Farm Association. You have a right to know what's in your food. That's why all across the country farmers and consumers have been advocating for the labeling of genetically engineered (GE) foods. Both Connecticut and Maine recently passed legislation that will regulate GE labeling. Now it's Ohio's turn! But, the Ohio Ecological Food & Farm Association (OEFFA) needs your help! Ohio decision-makers need to hear directly from Ohioans about the need to label GE foods in order to give consumers the power to vote with their dollars and make informed choices about the food they put on their tables. Join OEFFA for a lobby day on Tuesday, January 21 at the Trinity Church to ask legislators to support GE labeling. Please RSVP by Tuesday, January 14 to confirm your spot.
Never met with your legislator before? No problem! OEFFA will provide you with all of the necessary resources. You will be placed in a small group of two to three fellow food advocates who live in or near your district. OEFFA will schedule the meetings for you prior to Lobby Day. See details in the agenda below.
Legislators have an obligation to respond to constituent concerns, but they can't take action if they don't hear from the people that they represent. Show your representatives at the Statehouse how much you value your right to know what's in your food!
Questions? Contact MacKenzie Bailey, Policy Program Coordinator for OEFFA, via email at [email protected] or by phone at (614) 421-2022 Ext. 208.
