John and Nadine de Bruin
Dey Dey's Best Beef Ever

John and Nadine de Bruin turned their recent Open House at Dey Dey's Best Beef Ever into a FundRAISER to benefit the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund.

Their FundRAISER had it all!  For the kids, they had a moon bounce, petting zoo and baby chicks in a box of wood shavings.

There were fun things for the adults too, farm tours aboard a haywagon with stops for rotational grazing discussion and demonstrations.  There were also educational exhibits, and Weston A. Price Foundation - Ventura County Chapter Leader, Jean Pedersen, helped folks learn more about the benefits of nutrient dense foods like grass-fed beef

Farm store sales were brisk, and we hear that the grilled hamburgers were oh so good!

John's favorite memory of the event? In his own words "Introducing my lovely wife and thanking her for putting the event together". Nadine's skillful planning skills sure came in handy. She had over 400 farm guests that day to feed!

Pete Kennedy, President of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund
recently got a great surprise when he went to the mailbox.

The de Bruins had sent a check for $1,017.50 along with a custom made magnet picturing highlights of the FundRAISER.

Thank you John and Nadine de Bruin!

John and Nadine de Bruin
John and Nadine de Bruin were high school sweethearts and are relatively new to farming.

After retiring from a robust career as an aerospace engineer, John took on the challenge of farming, and used his background in science and research to create the healthiest and best tasting beef possible. His research led him to the Joel Salatin Polyface model.

Eight years later, Dey Dey's Best Beef Ever has 220 acres and 200 head of Lowline cattle in managed rotational grazing, adding pastured poultry and eggs in 2010.
