MADISON (WKOW) -- A local dairy farmer says he's being forced to dump his raw milk...
So he did: on the lawn of the State Capitol building. Scott Trautman of Stoughton held a public protest Saturday, urging lawmakers to legalize the sale of raw milk.
Trautman says he was shut down by a state agency last month... he says its because he was producing raw milk.
Scott Trautman says, "Let my family live in peace . let us do what we do best. Make milk and make people happy. That's all we want to do."
Trautman says there is legislation being drafted that would make the sale of raw milk legal.. under strict safety guidelines.
State officials started cracking down on farms in August after more than two dozen people were diagnosed with a bacterial infection... which they say happened after drinking raw milk.
