Kentucky Senate Bill (SB 47)
Overrule Big Ag - Call, Petition, Email Your Senator
|
Senate bill SB47 passed out of the Agriculture Committee by a 9-2 vote on January 30 and was on its way for a Vote in the Full Senate but Big Agribusiness and certain state agencies are pushing hard against it.
Senate Bill 47 would protect Kentuckians' right to privately contract and invest in all types of livestock and poultry to acquire the food of their choice from the farmer of their choice, raised in the manner of their choice.
SB47 further declares that "no permit pertaining to that shared ownership shall be required by the department or any other state agency. Neither the department nor any other state agency shall have authority over contractual agreements for the shared ownership of farm livestock or poultry." EVERY CALL COUNTS - THE MORE, THE BETTER
We're facing strong opposition to this bill. Leaving a message only takes a couple of minutes. Protecting our farmers can last a lifetime. Let's show Big Ag that Kentucky cares about its small farms and the rights of Kentuckians.
