In addition to the farmer and consumer memberships that have always been offered, we've added the Artisan Producer Membership and the Affiliate Communities Membership as well as a Non-Member Consulting Agreement. Please see below for more details.
Artisan Food Producer Membership
Membership is $125/year and open to artisan food producers throughout the United States who make off-farm-produced food products marketed directly to the consumer.
Examples of artisanal producers include, but are not limited to, cheese makers, bakers, and producers of lacto-fermented goods in home kitchens as well as in commercial kitchens.
Affiliate Community Membership
Memberships are $5 per associated member (minimum of $250/year) and open to communities throughout the United States, such as consumer groups obtaining food directly from farmers and artisan food producers. Such communities seek to defend the rights of farmers and artisan food producers to provide these foods directly to consumers.
A community qualifying for Affiliate Community membership is a formal or loosely organized group of farmers and/or consumers that engages in and/or supports direct-to-consumer distribution of farm products and artisan foods. Examples include buyers clubs, food co-ops, farmers co-ops, farmers markets, community supported agriculture (CSAs), and sustainable agriculture non-profits.
Non-Member Consulting Agreement
A Non-Member Consulting Agreement is $125/year for farmers throughout the United States who have a philosophical objection to membership in an organization that engages in litigation such as persons from the Mennonite, Amish or other Anabaptist faiths.
