MESSAGE FROM TIM WIGHTMAN

SYMPOSIUM CHAIRMAN

Greetings raw milk and local food advocates,

Another spring is on its way.  As our thoughts turn to warmer temperatures and green grass, it is once again time for the Annual International Raw Milk Symposium. The Farm-to-Consumer Foundation is proud to announce that we will once again be the main sponsor of the event. This year's International Raw Milk Symposium will be held Saturday, May 7th, 2011 in Bloomington, Minnesota at the Embassy Suites, just five miles from the Twin Cities Airport.

This year's symposium will be a valuable educational event located in Minnesota, the heart of consumer support for both raw milk and local food.  Minnesota communities and organizations are leading our nation in consumer cooperation and partnership with local farmers, advancing the raw milk and local food movement and providing the model for the future of our movements in this country and worldwide.

We are pleased to welcome Michael Schmidt as our keynote speaker Saturday evening for the fundraising dinner. This tax-deductible event will benefit the Farm-to-Consumer Foundation and the Foundation for Consumer Free Choice, whose efforts in Minnesota and around the country facilitate education about local food, raw milk and consumer roles in the local food movement. To learn more about Michael Schmidt visit his blog.

We are overjoyed that the 3rd Annual International Raw Milk Symposium will be able to showcase local raw milk and raw milk products at this year's event. In addition, all meals will be masterly prepared by Chef Pierre Jean Laupies of Chez Daniel with donated local meats, produce and products.

I look forward to sharing with you the excellent information, good conversation, and good food that will be had at the 3rd Annual International Raw Milk Symposium.

Sincerely,
Tim Wightman
Chairman, 3rd Annual International Raw Milk Symposium
President, Farm-to-Consumer Foundation
