As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, I am reminded of all we have to be thankful for--our farmers who have raised their animals with a respect unknown to the big confinement operations, our dairy farmers who are providing life-giving raw milk, our fruit and vegetable farmers who stand up against the GM seed companies and continue to provide us with wholesome fruits and vegetables, our consumers who are continually discovering the benefits of local, sustainable foods and the many donors who have supported our organizations during the past year.
With the help of our readers, we have continually contacted our elected representatives through our petition service. With the help of our generous donors, we have continued to provide legal services in these difficult economic times. With the help of our dedicated legal team working long hours, often pro-bono, our farms continue to operate free of government harassment. For all of these blessings, we are incredibly thankful.
I am continually amazed at the passion and dedication that has infused the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund and the Farm-to-Consumer Foundation. Our country has gone through a lot of trials over the past year. We have not always gotten the results that we wanted. Right always does win over wrong , but farmers' rights will prevail win in the end. I believe that with all of my heart!
