Full Moon Feast Thursday, November 6, 2014
| "Never A Doormat" award winners, Carol and Paul Schmitmeyer
| Surprise speaker, Richard Cheatham of Living History Associates as John Rolfe
|
|
Dinner was followed by a touching video tribute to our many donors. FTCLDF is generously supported by tens of thousands of donors, each contributing in a unique way! Our rain makers attend events, write blog stories, share Facebook items, buy tee shirts, film promo messages, donate proceeds from summits or foods and beverages for events, hold farm tours, provide silent auction gifts, promote FTCLDF membership or volunteer for legal cases, exhibits or events.
After the video tribute, FTCLDF President Pete Kennedy presented the three "Never A Doormat" awards to: - Carol and Paul Schmitmeyer for winning a major herd-share court case in Ohio;
- Jerry Brunetti for fighting the Food and Drug Administration and state Department of Agriculture to get market access for his holistic animal feed; and
- Mike Hartmann for fighting, for the last 15 years, to establish the right of farmers to be able to sell and peddle products from their farms.
To close the evening, surprise speaker Richard Cheatham of Living History Associates became John Rolfe, early English settler in the U.S. and husband of Pocahontas. He spoke of the vital right to be able to grow one's own food in those early years.

- expand legal raw milk sales from grass-based dairies,
- equip farmers with the information they need to navigate abusive raids and government regulations, and much more!
