Marilyn McCray is a writer and independent marketing consultant with a strong interest in helping farmers market themselves successfully and realize the American dream.
A self-confessed foodie, McCray cooked at a dude ranch and has served on the Restaurant Committee of the Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta. Her love of food has taken her to Boggy Creek Farm in East Austin, an urban farm where she assists with the Saturday farm stand, selling organic vegetables and visiting with the locals and chefs who frequent the farm.
She has been on the leadership team of Slow Food Austin, the local Convivium of Slow Food International promoting the benefits of the slow life. She enjoys participating in events organized by TOFGA, the Texas Organic Farmers and Gardners Association, and recently spoke at the Culinary Tourism Summit sponsored by the Texas Forest Trail Region.
