Living as as resident in Hawaii (96816), a state where selling raw milk is illegal, I find it abhorrent that, as a consumer, I'm not given the option to purchase this natural nutritional product. Hope this can become a legally available product before I have keiki (children). Free Market!

Thankyou for supporting Food Choice and well as Food for Health and Healing. I BROKE BONES in my head two years ago and used RAW MILK as a bone HEALING FOOD--and it was and still is very effective in my health choices. Thank you for your YES vote on SD Raw Milk SB 126!!!

People are smart enough to make their own decisions on what to eat or drink without interference from the government. This is what freedom is all about.

I am a farmer in Ohio and feel that access to food off of the farm from small farmers should be a priority. Healthy, safe local foods should be available to all. Please be an innovator and trailblazer and keep raw milk available to all.

From birth to seven years old, I drank only raw milk and was very healthy as were my five brothers and sisters and parents. We often drank it straight out of the bucket while it was still warm. We ran to meet our Daddy to get this treat before he even left the barn. There is no scientific evidence to prove clean cows who are pasture raised will harm anyone. We have the constitutional right, guaranteed by the original framers of the U.S. constitution, to freely choose what we buy and who we buy it from. Stop over-regulating and killing small business!

Let farmers be able to produce and sell raw milk, and raw milk products! Raw is so healthy and delicious! There is nothing healthy about pasterized dairy and it tastes horrible. Let farmers sell RAW!

I am one of many chemical sensitives who need both organic food and nonchemicalized beverages.
Since most organic producers are small producers how they are treated can affect people like me as directly as such issues affect the organic producers themselves.

Please stop making it so difficult for people to access healthy raw milk. It's the huge factory dairies that you should be concerned about with their GMO feed and over used antibiotics that are putting us at such risk from our toxic food supplies.

As a person who believes folks should have the right to the foods of one's choice from the source(s) of one's choice, I encourage you to support SB 126 to preserve consumer access and relieve farm fresh milk producers of the burden SDDA is imposing. Direct to consumer sales provides the best transparency and traceability. Let state agencies focus on the REAL problems in the industrial food supply chain.

I support our raw milk producers and want to maintain access to good quality, locally produced raw milk. Vote Yes for this legislation. Since the passage of the SDDA rules related to raw milk I can no longer purchase raw milk from SD producers. Instead I am limited to purchasing Nebraska pasteurized but NON homogenized milk available in glass containers. I would like to be able to purchase SD milk from local SD raw milk farmers

I support the passage of SB 126 to restore my right to purchase raw milk and the right of a dairy to produce and sell it to those who want it. It has proven healthful for me, but is no longer available to me because of the unreasonable actions of SDDA. It is a tragedy that their actions have been so hard on small dairy businesses in SD.

We Should Have A Choice in what we choose to nourish our bodies with. I am well aware of the SDDA guidelines on the consumption of raw milk. I still choose to nourish myself and my family with raw milk. Whether you agree to the benefits of raw milk or not, the freedom to choose should be our right as citizens of South Dakota. Who or what are you satisfying by placing burdensome rules on the hard working farmers who provide this nourishing food to those who choose to consume it. I do hope that good old common sense can be used in creating smart legislation to protect this right to choose.

As a follower of nutrition/health for 30+ years, I've seen many fads come and go. Fresh, raw milk is consumed in the Bible and is a staple, nourishing food. When cows/goats(humans) are allowed access to their natural diets of grass/forbes(unprocessed foods) and fresh air ,sunshine, and exeercise, they thrive and the incidence of disease is minimal. In "The Untold Story of Milk", the reason pasteurization became necessary was because swill mash was fed to dairy as a way to get rid of it. History repeats itself as nowdays many commercial feeds include distilled grains. Please support SB126 as a healthy food choice/localeconomic small business/ individual health care alternative. It is what built our people/ country. Thanks for your consideration/work!!

I appreciate your willingness to bring SB 126 to the table and your support of our freedom of choice regarding our food supply as well as your support regarding our small farmers/producers. They have been and still are the backbone of our lives. Thank you for your vote supporting SB126. I need to be able to drink raw milk for health reasons so I depend on my government officials to support wellness for all of us through solid science and fairness. Thank you!

Dear Senator:

I will be in Pierre February 6th in the afternoon and I hope to visit with you about SB 126. I am an avid raw milk consumer who was told to drink raw milk by my doctors in Chicago. It was tough to find back there. I moved to Rapid City 8 years ago and now have access to raw goats milk! I am thrilled. I support SB 126 because I believe it will create a fair regulatory enviroment for small family farmers selling raw milk direct to consumer, and it will protect public health. I hope that you will vote YES on SB 126 on February 7th. Thank you. Gena Parkhurst

We have used raw milk for many years and feel the right of people to make their own decisions on the use of raw mild should not be regulated by the government be it state or federal.

I would like to retain my right to purchase Raw milk from my local farmer. I prefer to by local and minimally processed. The people should have the right to choose, not the state. Please vote "yes" on SB126.

For myself, nearly 72 years old, and my family, Raw Milk is healthier than the milk that has been processed.

The SDDA rules are burdensome for small independent producers. I believe they should make more room for small farmers to not be put out of business by an agency that is tailoring its rules to large scale commercial ventures. As consumers, we should have the right to purchase the foods we want, and we have the responsibility of making our own educated choices. Yet in the "interest of public safety" the SDDA is taking consumer freedoms out of play. Raw dairy products were used safely for thousands of years, and it was not until the advent of processing and distribution of food that safety became an issue. I should be able to buy raw milk from a local farmer who does not distribute widely or process milk for extended shelf time, because I will use it immediately and preserve it properly. Food is a basic human right, and we should have the freedom to eat what we want, and the right to make our OWN choices. I cannot afford to keep a cow of my own, therefore, these small producers are essential to my family's health and access to fresh, properly raised healthy food.

Thank you for all involved in this bill. My family has been very healthy for the past 4+ years before the state government decided that I am capable of paying taxes but not capable enough to make choices about my diet. I sincerely appreciate the ability to vote about this choice that affects local citizens in a variety of ways.

If we truly are a free country, stop passing all the laws so we are not free to buy the food we want to keep our families healthy. I urge you to vote YES on SB 126 to regulate the direct sale of raw milk for human consumption with size-appropriate requirements.
