Honorable Governor Tomblin,

I strongly encourage you to sign the SB 30 (Herdshare Bill). It is legal to consume raw dairy products throughout the United States. The citizens of WV should have the ability to obtain raw milk from animals that they own (partially/fully). I am aware that many West Virginians go to the surrounding states of Pennsylvania and Virginia to exercise such access.

Governor Tomblin, Not sure why you are interested in vetoing a bill that so many people want passed. Why would you be interested in criminalizing folks over a food product? Why, when there is no solid evidence that there is a real health risk, would it be of interest to the government, to restrict raw milk from being available to the people? Why do you want to put folks in a position of feeling like a criminal over milk??? So puzzling. Can you really restrict natural man? Hmmm!

West Virginians want freedom of choice in their food purchases. Many want the freedom to purchase raw milk if they choose. Raw milk related illnesses are extremely rare, and usually are no more than an upset stomach for a short time. This, as compared to commercially sold milk that includes RBST growth hormones, antibiotic laden cattle that are fed GMO corn containing dangerous pesticides. Many cross state borders to purchase raw milk, and feel like criminals as they transport milk across state lines.
Mountaineers need freedom of choice in their milk purchases!

Please pass the herdshare bill SB 30... No reason for this state to remain so backwards and not keep up with simple things like this that everyone else already has. Everyone knows that raw milk is WAAYYYYY healthier than the so called, milk, in the grocery stores.... Please pass this bill so we, the citizens of WV, can be healthy also, if we choose to be... Thank You sooooo much!! Terri

Dear Governor Tomblin:
I urge you to please pass legislation for herdshares in WV. Raw milk from "grass fed" cows is a very clean, healthy choice as an important probiotic that promotes good health. My husband and I have been drinking it for 5 years and it has improved our health and teeth.
Thank you
Carol DelRosso

It is very difficult to be respectful when you make just plain stupid mistakes...but I will try.
Sign the Herdshare Bill [SB 30]! It is the right thing to do.

The health benefits outweigh the risks when dairy animals are cared for humanely and in clean environments. Please give our children the benefit healthy immune systems.
Thank you

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... Do the RIGHT thing for all West Virginians! Please pass SB30 - in support of West Virginians! In support of freedom of choice! In support of health! I am a Registered Nurse (I also have a PhD in Humanities.) I work in the realm of functional medicine and nutrition. In the past few years, I have developed allergies and sensitivities to common hybridized, modified, processed and pasteurized foods, including wheat and milk. I become very ill with cramps, bloating, increased mucous production, etc. when I drink "organic" but pasteurized milk. I can eat NO processed milk products at all. It's been years since I have, but when I did, I paid the price in developing bronchitis, sinusitis and respiratory ailments. However, when I drink raw milk, I have none of these adverse reactions or problems. I have to travel to Ohio to find raw milk. I rescued a very sick dog from a local shelter. She was to be euthanized because she was so sick with so many health issues. After feeding her a raw meat diet and raw goat's milk, she is a beautiful, happy, healthy dog. ALL of her health issues, including severe hip dysphasia, hair loss, allergies, etc. (ALL caused by poor nutrition with overly processed dead food.) Raw milk contains live enzymes and nutrients not found in pasteurized milk, as they have been destroyed in the pasteurization process. PLEASE vote in SUPPORT OF the citizens of West Virginia in supporting and passing SB30! Please give us the freedom of choice! Sincerely, Terri Swearingen, RN

Please allow me the right and priviledge (as a citizen of this free country) to make my own decisions of what I "will and will not" eat for my personal health. That is not governments right.
Thank you Governor Tomblin. Dorothy Joan "Boone" Studenic

It is time for the WV state government to allow people to do the things they need to do to keep a healthy life and do what has to be done on their land, to keep that healthy life, instead of buying foods and drinks in our food stores, that have contaminated foods and drinks that you and all other states seems to worry little about. Example 90% or more of all dairy drinks have MSG's in them and the soda industry is loaded with ASPARTAMES, and BEER and other drinks have NITRATES all which I cannot have. So allow the residents of West Virginia who has land, to grow and produce what they need to live daily and healthier at the same time.

I understand you've vetoed the bill. This is no doubt out of your ignorance of the issue--and the influences of the mass-producers in the state. Their milk ISN'T safe, and SHOULD BE highly processed to make it safe-but processing makes it not nearly as healthy as it should be.
But small scale milk production should be free to offer raw milk, which dairy farmers and their friends have been drinking for generations without problems. Please get better informed on raw milk and reconsider!

Governor Tomblin
I live in Parkersburg and I have to drive to Pa to buy fresh milk. I'm a 70 year old women with osteoporosis and I need the milk for my bones as I'm sure that you know that pasteurization kills the nutrients in milk.
Please allow us the freedom to invest in a herdshare.
Sincerely, Linda Cunningham

People need to be in control of what they eat, deeming healthy foods to be under their control and not the governments.

As the grandmother of a child who is on the Autism spectrum (damaged by vaccines), research has shown that children on the spectrum make great strides when given raw milk that still has all the enzymes and nutrients that are lost through pasteurization. WV is the only state that restricts cow shares. Please sign this bill which will give us a choice to do what is right by our children. Thank you...respectfully submitted...Jeanne

I urge you to sign the Herdshare Bill [SB 30], to restore property rights in West Virginia and allow the co-ownership of dairy animals. It is legal throughout the United States to consume raw dairy products. West Virginians should have the right to obtain milk from animals they partially or fully own. SB 30 prohibits the sale of raw milk obtained through a herdshare arrangement.

Americans must develop a Sustainable culture and maintaining the rights of individuals-especially in regard to small farming and gardening-- is paramount.

[082009:040215] B.G., 0034:9991:Shelley Moore Capito,
Many families, including my own, travel to Ohio and Pennsylvania to obtain raw milk. The state is losing tax revenue to surrounding states.

Additionally, allowing herdshares will boost the rural economy and increase farmers' incomes, raw milk can be the gateway to sales of other farm products such as meat, poultry, eggs and produce.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter

Please restore the rights of residents of West Virginia by approving SB30. Thank you in advance for minimizing governmental interference and demonstrating, instead of just saying you have, respect for your constituents.

Please sign SB30 into law. Please give the people of WV what they want and not what government thinks is best for us. We are a free country so let us decided as people on what we think our bodies need.

I hope you decide that this law is a one to sign. Those of who have had access to raw milk would like to continue to be able to get it without traveling to adjoining states. We have educated ourselves and feel we should have the right to choose the products the are best for our health. Thank you.
