An amendment (HB4036-HCA1) to House Bill 4036 would ban not only the sale but even the distribution of raw milk in Illinois!

To stop HB 4036 in its tracks, we need as many people as possible voicing opposition to the bill and amendment as well as calling Rep. Burke (D-1), the sponsor of both, asking him to withdraw this bill.

As introduced, HB 4036 would simply replace "the" with "the" in the current statute (410 ILCS 39/1): "This Act may be cited as the Restroom Access Act."

This simple non-change is the pretext for Rep. Daniel J. Burke to slyly introduce the amendment to eliminate access to raw in Illinois by changing a different statute, 410 ILCS 635/8:

The language would replace the original exemption allowing unpasteurized milk "if sold or distributed on the premises of the dairy farm."
