Benefactor Appreciation Event

This offer is now closed.

Donate $250 during the 2011 FundRAISER to attend a very special event at Joel and Teresa Salatin's Polyface Farm in Swoope, Virginia.

Highlights will include Joel's behind the scenes in-depth tour of Polyface Farm, wine and artisan beer sampling, buffet lunch with the Salatin family, interns and staff, and door prizes including a shopping spree at the Polyface Farm Store.

We keep this event small and personal, so, it is limited to the first 150 RSVPs received.

PLAN FOR THE DAY

Plan on arriving a little early, at 9:00 a.m. Those country roads winding to Polyface are beautiful in the morning mists.  When you arrive, there will be plenty of parking and a warm welcome!

Joel will hook up the tractor to the hay wagons, and our tour will start at 9:30 a.m. and take approximately 2 1/2 hours total.  We'll be touring all the key areas in Polyface.

You'll see Pigaerator Pork, Salad Bar Beef and Pastured Poultry (broilers and layers) operations up close and, even better, you'll be treated to Joel's wisdom and humor along the way. Imagine being able to tell the folks back home about Polyface's  "stackable, synergistic, symbiotic, multi-enterprise, multi-speciated pasture-based model"!

Want to learn more before you attend? Check out the informative videos from the 2010 tour.

The tour will have us back at the Polyface Farm Store around noon, and we'll have 30 minutes to freshen up for our lunch served at 12:30 p.m.  You'll notice that farm air sharpens the appetite!

The buffet lunch will feature, of course, Polyface Fare, and we'll have a selection of wines and artisan beers for you to sample as well. Since one of your hosts is Sally Fallon Morell, author of Nourishing Traditions Cookbook and President of the Weston A. Price Foundation, you'll be sure to see some delicious fermented foods and beverages, butter and other nutrient dense foods on the table!

At lunch we'll have brief remarks from our special guests, and then, everyone's favorite - drawings for door prizes - including a Polyface Farm Store shopping spree! After lunch you'll have plenty of time to shop and fill your coolers at the Polyface Farm Store, since the store closes at 4:00 pm.

Even though the event concludes at 2:30 p.m., Polyface and the Salatins will live long in your memory.

Join us for this unforgettable day!
